7 Deadly Sins: Silver Lust
The first video in my new series: 7 deadly sins! I decided to do "Lust" first only because I already knew the colour concept I intended to use. Honestly, this look can be worn to a dance, prom...anything involved with night-life. Of course, alter it to your liking :)
First I primed my eyelids and lower lashline using Urban Decay's Primer Potion in "Sin" and I blended it so that my inner tearduct area was also primed. I love using this primer as an eyeshadow base because it has a beautiful champagne finish and really accentuates any shimmery/glittery eyeshadows placed ontop of it.I used only 3 brushes for applying, blending and smudging the eyeshadows. I used an eyeshadow brush from the Sephora Professionel Silver Brush Line. It's supposed to be used for cream eyeshadows but works just as well with dry shadows (left). To blend the shadows, I used the blending brush from the Sephora Professional Silver Brush Line (center) and for smudging I used the #14 from the Sephora Professionel Black Brush Line (right).
I used the eyeshadow brush to first apply "Idol Eyes" by MAC. Idol Eyes has a Lustre finish and is a very sheer light silver with a lot of gold shimmer in it. This colour went directly to the inner 1/3 of the eyelid as well as into the tearduct.
Next, still using the same eyeshadow brush, I picked up "Beautiful Iris" by MAC which has a Veluxe Pearl finish. It's a light lavender colour which I applied to overlap "Idol Eyes" a little and onto the ball of my eyes.
Now to deepen and to make the purple more rich, I went in with "Parfait Amour" by MAC which has a Frost finish. I swept this colour over the rest of the eyelid, not going too far up over the crease.
This look has a very subtle and soft cut crease and the colours that went into creating the subtle cut crease are "Silver Ring" and "Scene" by MAC. "Silver Ring" (Veluxe Pearl finish) was used a guide; it was placed over the crease and fanned outward to create a cat-eye shape. "Scene" (Satin finish) was used to emphasize the actual cat-eye shape and to deepen the outer corners of the colour. I used the blending brush to blend the colours together.
I lined the outer part of my upper and lower lashline using Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in "Rockstar" which is a taupe-ish purple colour. I created a very dramatic wing and then lined my entire lower lash line using Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in "Dime", even following under the dramatic wing. Using the dime as a base and guide, using the Smudge brush, I used "Parfait Amour" again to balance the colours of the upper and lower lids. "Silver Ring" was used towards the front of the lower lash line.
Just below the wing created using "Rockstar" I used a glitter eye liner from Annabelle in "Plutonium" just for a touch of sparkle.
I curled my eyelashes using the Shu Uemura Lash Curler and then applied several coats of L'Oreal's Telescopic Explosion Mascara in "Blackest Black" to my upper and lower eyelashes.
That's it for the eyes! Now onto cheeks. I wanted to balance the dark/coolness of the eyes with something a more warm and I used the Nars blush in "Super Orgasm" (the Nars blush in "Orgasm" is the less dramatic version of this blush). This blush is very pigmented so a little goes a long way and is packed with gold reflect. I thought this would give the skin a nice glow and a beautiful flushed look.
Lastly, I had vaseline (as always) on my lips prior to lip colour application. I didn't want anything that was too pigmented otherwise there would be competition between the lip colour and the eye colour so I chose to use "See Sheer" by MAC and because of it's Lustre finish, it is very sheer as the name suggests!
I hope that this was easy enough to follow but here's the video! Enjoy! xo

MAYBELLINE EYESTUDIO QUAD: TAUPE TEMPTRESS
Yay for my first blog post :)
I filmed a tutorial using the Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Taupe Temptress and its super easy and super simple.
here's the video for reference :) i hope it was easy to follow! until next time, xo!
I filmed a tutorial using the Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Taupe Temptress and its super easy and super simple.
one. this is the highlight colour and its a gorgeous pearly iridescent shadow. it can be used as a highlight or even as an all over lid colour and this shadow can be applied with a brush or finger. it's application is the smoothest out of the 4 shadows in this quad. I used this as a highlight for the inner corner of the eyes as well as the brow bone in this tutorial.
two. this shadow is a cross between a mauve and taupe colour; if used wet the mauve shows up more but if used dry it resembles Satin Taupe by MAC. I used this colour as an all-over lid colour in the tutorial.
three. a very shimmery light gray colour and I used this as a liner for the middle 1/3 of my lower lash line.
four. looks can be deceiving; this colour looks very similar to the 2nd colour but a little more rich. however when applied, it is close to a dark plum or even black! i dusted this colour very lightly onto the outer-V and the outer 1/3 of my lower lash line and blended it outward.
here's the video for reference :) i hope it was easy to follow! until next time, xo!
